Ok, well, lets see where do i start?

I keep getting these BSODs with the dreaded "IRQL is not less than or equal to" (or something like that) error message. It happens randomly and it just started yesterday after my defrag. It has happened 3 times already and it happened when i was using desktop programs, like IE and Win Explorer. It didnt or hasnt yet happened in any full screen 3D games, like CS or War3.

Ive has this prob b4 a couple months ago but back then, it only occured twice. But not, its acting up again.

Any fixes?

I havent dont anything to my comp other than the defrag. No new hardware or software. Nada. If it helps, i used Norton Speed Disk as my defragger.

Also, im not quite sure about this but I think when i last had the BSODs, it was ALSO right after my defrag session. Dont really remember.

I just did a search on Google with the keyword "IRQL bsod" and it seems im not alone. Many ppl running OSes on the NT kernal are experienceing this prob.

Ive read fixes ranging from disabling ACPI to uninstalling drivers.

Im certain that all my drivers are XP compatable. And im not sure how to safely and correctly disable ACPI (i have shutdown issues).

Also, someguy said reformatting did nothing to solve the prob.

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS
