Does BSOD still exist on WindowsXP?

I missed that BSOD thing since WindowsXP was released.
Intel products plus Windows XP works in harmony.

I know Intel products are a bit expensive but in the long run
it's worh the price. AMDs are much cheaper but usually runs
with LOTS of ERRORs.

I played Wolfenstein, CounterStrike 1.3, Commandos 2 and Formula 1 World Grand Prix without any problem.

SPEED=HEAT
HEAT in electronic chips is critical so be sure to have enough cooling system if you're OVERCLOCKING your system.

My specs are:
Intel D850GB mobo
Intel Pentium4 1.4Ghz
128Mb PC800 Samsumg RDRAM
Elsa Gladiac 511 w/ TV OUT (but flashed with Winfast Geforce2 MX/MX 400 Video Card bios 'coz Elsa CARDs S*CKS!)
40 Gb Seagate and 16Gb for my MP3s
Simbadda C550 casing with 300watt power supply

hehehehe I dont miss the BSOD at all

actually no matter how hard i try i cant crash XP ..... and im using AMD and always have...

in 2000 and win98 i also had minimal problems .....

I dont really think its the chipset , i think its the user :)

The only problem I've had was with my ATA 100 40 gig drive not getting along with my FIC SD11 MB. FOr some reason it wated to corrupt information in XP, although it worked fine in W2K.

I just went ahead and got a Promise ATA 100 PCI IDE Card, and all is well :D

I agree, with the exception of a few crappy VIA chipsets, most of the damage is caused by PEBKAC...

had my first bsod today regarding fwdrv.sys
anyone know what thats for?

didnt bother rebooting normally... did a last good known boot up
and since i had only rebooted 20mins back... i was ok

i suspect its because i messed around with msn msger with reg hacker but im not sure

I couldn't agree with you more DrX, it's the user that contribute a lot about how a PC behave.

thanks ritchie
that bloody firewalls given me nothingbut problems
half the time it doesnt even want to load.

time to uninstall i think

Try Zone Alarm if you havent already.

www.zonelabs.com

It should work pretty good for you if Tinys giving you problems.

You probably knew this already, but thought I'd toss it in just in case...:D

for somereason, zonealarm has never taken a fancy to me.

Norton Personal Firewall was the only one that worked with me

I used Norton Firewall, but it tended to use way to much CPU cycles at times. I had thought it was IE at first, but when I disabled it, no more CPU hogging.

ZAs worked fine for me, but to each his own I guess :D

No, NPF doesnt come with Either Norton SW Std or Pro.

i have tried all flavors of firewalls and Zone Alarm is by far the best....

A few $ for the PRO version is worth it in my opinion, The latest version runs sweet on XP and has stopped many attempts on my network.....

I still cant believe that some people dont use them :)

hehehehee

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
