my roommates computer is apparently broadcasting new mac addresses about every 5 minutes - over 6000 so far... and its making the school kinda upset - theyre threatening to shut off the internet, which is something i cannot afford. Now he did a virus scan, spybot scan, updated network drivers, and updated windows all to no avail. There is no noticeable effect on the computers performance either. Just wondering if anyones heard of anything like this before or has any suggestions.

btw... he has a gigabyte ga7n400pro2 mobo with onboard lan

I don't see how it is possible that an ethernet card can be broadcasting a new MAC address every five minutes. As far as I know, the MAC address is hardcoded into the ethernet card. Maybe there's a problem with the school's network? I'm not sure. I've never heard of a NIC broadcasting a new MAC address like that.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
