Breed Demo PROBLEM!!!

I got a demo for a new game named Breed and was really looking forward to playing it. It installed fine with no problems. I opened a sort of launcher and a menu came up. I clicked "Play". It then came up an error saying "This application has failed to start because d3d9.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I took the simple approach to this problem and downloaded the .dll file the demo required. I started up the game as before and a new error appeared saying "The procedure entry point DdEntry10 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll" This demo looks REALLY good and I'm very desperate to play it so any opinions or solutions would be most appreciated!

I have:
Windows XP Professional
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
1661MHz
256Mb RAM
DirectX 8.1

I would recommend reinstalling direct x 9.0a. Here's the Breed demo requirment

Minimum:
600 MHz CPU
128 Megabytes of RAM
3D accelerated 32 MB video card or equivalent with HW-T&L
(Hardware Transform & Lighting) and 24-bit z-buffer
270 MB free hard disk space
(additional space required for DirectX© 9 installation)
8X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
100% Direct Sound compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard

Recommended:
1500 MHz CPU
256 Megabytes of RAM
3D accelerated 64 MB video card or equivalent with HW-T&L
(Hardware Transform & Lighting) and 24-bit z-buffer
300 MB free hard disk space plus space for saved games
(additional space required for DirectX© 9 installation)
40X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
100% Direct Sound compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard

As in your sig said you have 8.1 get the 9.0a from DirectX 9.0a

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
