Boot up hang

Hi. I recently formatted and reinstalled XP to be greeted with a bunch of new problems I didn't have in the first place. I'm not having a very good time. People ask why everyone hates Microsoft...

Anyway, when I first boot up I get that 30 second (or longer) hang. But this time, unlike the last time I loaded XP, I can't do anything except move the mouse - AT ALL.
I tried to delete this:
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} to remove task scheduler, like the guide says, and it has done nothing.

There used to be a post on this, but it was apparently deleted with the forum switch, so I'm stuck with these lock ups for now. One of only a few bugs I now get to squash. Wee.

Well im not sure where you hang is .. my friend had a boot up hang just after the NTloader was started ... it turned out he needed to update his bios to the newest version

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
