Boot Options

I have a problem, that when I boot I get the options of two operating systems while I have only one installed on my pc.

I checked the boot.ini file and this is the contents:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

It gives me the Options to start Windows XP Proffesion or to start Windows (which is marked default)

But when I start Windows (default) it just gives me some errors and restarts.

If anyone can help please do so.........

hmmm that looks right..

try booting from the xp cd, going into the repair console and typing fixboot

OK Thanks for the response, and I'll give it a try!

or go to a cmd prompt and typing bootcfg/? this will give you options that pertain to your ntloader

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
