Boot options

I recently attempted to re-install Windows XP but chickened out. However, now when I log in, I always get the choice of going to Windows XP setup - now the default - or continuing to boot XP as normal. Unfortunately, if I am away from my machine, the boot continues to Setup and freezes, requiring a reboot to normal. How do I get rid of this choiuce and make the machine default to normal bootup?

Hello mikesmartt.

Press the windows key (the one with the little windows logo on it) and the pause/break key. This will bring up your 'System Properties' window.

Click on the 'Advanced' tab.

Under the 'Startup and Recovery' title--press the 'Settings' button.

Now in this window, it will show 'Default Operating System:' and have something selected in the drop down box. Click on that box and choose 'Microsoft Windows XP .....'

Uncheck the box labeled 'time to display a list of operating systems:'

Click 'OK' until you have closed all of those windows.

Reboot and let me know if that fixes your problem.

PS-Do you have home or pro?

Fixed

It is Pro and that fixed it fine.
Thanks alot.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
