so i believe nothing is wrong with my ram... it's software... for ati drivers... i just reinstalled the newest one... i think it was... if you could drop me a link for the newest radeon 9800 pro driver for xp... that would be great too... thanx again for your help...

and another thing... it didn't do this blue screen thing... then it started blue screening the first time... then i fixed it.. and was able to use it for a good period of time... i fixed it.... and it ran fine... then now this... the only thing i did to fix it last time was install windows updates... even after that it doesn't work... i am getting desperate

bah... it even freezes when i try to copy a dvd.. and play counter strike now.. while backing up a dvd it' blue screens... but during cs. it' just freezes real bad

1) uninstall ati driver, reinstall drivers

2) run memtest86 overnight on ONE stick at a time.

maybe it was just from overheating.. lol

i'll keep you guys updated... thanx for your support

ok.. it was over heating... it ran on average of 70 degrees celcius.. did some work reseated the hsf.. cuz the idiot who put it on messed up... i run a 37-39 degrees celcius... sorry i wasted your time... atleast we all know that over heating can cause this.. and it wasn't my fault.. it was the idiot who built it.. i asked him about thermal paste/paper.. he said none... BAH

damn thats 2 people in the last week who had systems built by moron who did not use thermal compound. Wonder if it was the same moron?

Dang 70C is sure to cause you problems :p Good to see you got it sorted out though :)

yea... that last post was me.. i'm that same person... and the lamer did it all wrong...

Certainly seems a two fold problem from the BSODs.... memory and Graphics driver.
I can vouch for the fact that memory problems can also throw up random unassociated errors as well.

Sorry to bring this topic back again.

I get the same error but with SMSENS.SYS instead while playing a game.
Can anyone tell me what is it pls :)

So are your soundmax drivers corrupted? is D3D corrupted? did the overheat cause problems on your inbuilt soundcard as well or is your whole system overheating?

If so you need to get a more powerful fan in pronto or even something that just blows air into the whole system.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
