bit torrent problem

I'm not so sure that we can help you, judging by the content.

It's not the board's job to police (I assume and regarding a screenshot). All it is - is a screenshot. I'm not offering anything, only asking for a solution. Anyway, I edited the screenshot, I hope the problem in question is understandable and "politically correct"

You used white out, which means its bad stuff....stuff this board CAN police...your HDTV download is Illegal unless you own the dvd, then if you did you shouldnt have to white it out...

Has the path to the torrent been changed? or maybe the folder?

Guys, he's asking for help with the uTorrent client, not with obtaining questionable material or anything of the sort. The question is perfectly legitimate, therefore I ask that you treat it as such.

I say we dont help till we get the name of those pornos

Hehehe, I admit some are pron. A little embarrassed to show them. They are straight pron mind you!

No the path has not changed but if you notice the name of the path, it's incorrect and using a bit of kanji (Japanese). After the second try, windows finds the folder. The actual path is: D:\BITTORRENT which is the second partition in the master drive

Seriously, I didn't use "white out" How would you know if I owned it or not but downloading it because the dog was chewing on it? Are you also judge and jury?

Here's another screenshot -

The second largest group of visitors to my site are from Japan so I'm translating my site - therefore I have east Asian language pack installed -

Hmm, Hard to tell what that error is. Have you tried to delete the torrent and re-download it and start over? Don't think it will help but an idea.

Who cares about that content. Internet = Free Stuff :)

I don't think you understand. The file is there, it's just the windows looks for the file with an incorrect address (path) initially but a second try finds the file.

Like I was saying, it's just a screenshot but in an effort to be politically correct, I erased most of the content first but left one so that one may understand what the problem was.

Does this happen often? When you open utorrent? When you download a particular size of file? Any more info?

Or is it when you try to access the file folder after its complete? Do you have the option selected to move the file once completed?

It only happens when the file is finished downloading and I try to open the folder from the client. The second try opens the folder. It doesn't happen all the time but it's frequent. Right now they are opening correctly.

It shouldn't be but perhaps this check mark is an issue. I unchecked it -

does your windows support japanese/chinese file creaton at all? That would seem to be the problem there :)

nothing in utorrent is confusing it settings are alright.

So it could either be a problem with utorrent accessing it because of the file or directory name. Or because utorrent is having a problem reading the drive (is it an old drive?) Which type of files is it happening with, is there a trend of anysort?

Try moving it to the same folder?
Torrent files and finished files all go to the same folder

I have language pack installed for Japanese

Windows is seeing an incorrect path (in foreign language) initially but on second try, it's correct.
This is a new drive (Seagate)
This only happens when opening a bittorent folder from client.

If you notice, it's not the file name in question as the screenshot should say (if file really could not be found) "The path C:BITTORENT does not exist" but instead it says: "The path $&$@ does not exist" (in Japanese though)

What does it show in utorrent preferences/advanced/user interface for double click options? - Is this when you double click on it or select open containing folder?

It sounds like utorrent is getting confused because of the language pack, because as you say the real file path is in english, so theoretically it would not be happening if the language pack was not installed. If it really bothers you may want to email utorrent support and explain the fault in view of better intergration with duel language comps, or just don't open the files from utorrent :lick:

It was on default (I assume) as "show properties". I never double click but I do right click to open containing folder. I have set it to open folder now.

Just check the Box and change it to that folder and see what happens even know it goes to the same folder.
I'll try one at a time but for some reason the problem is not cooperating - it's like a squeak, rattle (or other issue) in a new car that goes away when you take it in for repairs

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
