My current bios version is award 6.00PG.
I was unable to update bios.
An error message
"fail - due to emm386 or qemm"
is displayed

my motherboard is "msi ms-6178" which don't support live update.

plzzzzz help me.

my first question is...why do u want to update your bios? r u having probs with your system? as the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

your mobo is pretty old. u ought to look into purchasing a new one if u want live update capabilities. go to www.pricewatch.com and check the prices....mobos r cheap!

I agree completely w/Koko - if you don't NEED to flash your bios, don't.

The message you are getting relates to memory management - but I don't know why you are getting it. Perhaps the boot disk you are using is trying to load a memory manager?

Yeah, unless you have a reason to update...save the trouble.

however to get it to work a it should, you should just create a bootdisk using the normal format option in XP, don't use an old 98 disk or such.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
