Check the manufacturer's web site for a bios upgrade. Chance's are this problem has been sorted.

the following is my BIOS info:

BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG

BIOS Eval: V.791BS_2 B04 01-25-1999
Chipset: VIA 82C691 rev 1
Superio: Winbond 877AF (use 87h) rev 0 found at port 3F0h

i am unable to find the BIOS update, can you pls help me?

CAN YOU GIVE ME THE EXACT MODEL OF THE MOBO PLEASE AND I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN FIND FOR YOU :)

(DISCLAIMER THIS KEYBOARD IS SHAGGED)

That doesn't make sense, if the BIOS cant seee it then nothing else can. How can the BIOS report it to windows if it cant see it.

Ah, but you are wrong. For example Linux will entirely not give a crap about what BIOS says about hardware (for example hdd:s). It will detect them itself. I think W2k and XP can do the same thing.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
