Hi guys ..

Sorry but I have this situation .. I have 2 hard disk.

HDD 1 - 30GB 7,200RPM with 8MB Buffer (ATA-100)
HDD 2 - 30GB 5,400RPM (ATA-133)

Which would you choose to use, why so?? And whats the major difference anyway?

hdd 1... for 8mb cache and for 7200 rpm spindle

more cache == better... higher spindle speed == lower seek/latency (theoretically anyways)

Yeah I would take no.1 for the 7200rpm.
Also, it depends on your motherboard - if it doesnt have ATA133 capacity theres no point ;)

I'm guessing your 7200rpm is Western digital and the 5400 is Seagate. WD lots faster.

The difference between hardware and software is failing some people me thinks :)

Well...
7200 vs 5400 - 7200 is much faster
8MB vs 2MB - 8MB is slightly faster
ATA100 vs ATA133 - ATA133 is slightly faster. Maybe.

Number one, no question.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
