Ok guys i'm looking at getting a HDTV. I'm not too clued up on them, so i don't really know the difference between a monitor and a HDTV TV! :)

Ok the budget is a modest one $1000-$1500

I'd ideally like a 36", but i can downsize to 32".

Its really just for the new consoles, and also for the new DVD's coming out next year. I don't watch any HDTV tv channels at all apart from the free pbs one.

Any suggestions would be great, but keep them within the budget, i'm not going other it. well unless its like $50 or something.

Don't really care about the name, as long as you can attest to the quality and durability of the brand.

It can be any format lcd, plasma, projection, crt whatever.

hmm... most other places have them around $1500 or so, so $1299 is ~$200 discount. Taking a quick look at some various review sites, this model hasn't fared too well.

Just so you know, this is NOT a LCD flat panel TV.. it's a LCD Projection TV

As for HDTV Monitor vs. HDTV TV.. a monitor does not have an HDTV tuner built in and will need an external box to display the HiDef signal. Think.. "HDTV ready"..

Is it true that users will be charged a monthly subscription for using HDTV in the UK when it's launched?

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
