Hey everyone,
I was wondering if you guys had any input on this. We took my old desktop and mashed it together with 1gb (4 256mb sticks of 333 Ram) a hdd, and a DVD-ROM drive. at the heart of the computer is an AMD Athlon X2 4200 and an Nvidia 7900 GT KO card. We tried playing an 11gb HD file of Inception on it and it started to get a bit choppy during some of the high motion parts. We were wondering what we can do to make it play better. We are using VLC to play them right now, I was wondering if there is a better decoder out there, since VLC kinda sucks anyways. Or if maybe our sad attempt at ram is the problem. We are running Windows 7 starter edition (We tried XP, and Vista but with the ram they were slow) now with starter edition its fast enough but it gets hiccups during full hd video play back.
Any suggestions on programs or anything else?
Thanks.
