Basic WinXP Prifile for games...

Hi guys,

I want to create an auxillary profile simply for playing games. I know how to create a new profile, but how do I keep the PC from starting up all of my "fluff" applications? Furthermore, how do I determine what is required to be started on that profile?

Thanks in advance for your help.

there are 4 places that you need to worry about, in two categories :)

Applications that open for any user on the computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Applications that run for only the "current user"
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

move the shortcuts/registry values to/from the places corresponding to which account you want them to start on.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
