Basic question about security

Sorry for this basic question. Do the worms and viruses from internet get into only primary partition with OS or can they get into other partitions too?

Depends on the virus, but yes some can damage files anywhere on your drive(s).

Like j79zlr stated .. if your running as administrator (XP default), that worm/virus has all the permissions you do hypotheticly.

In such a case, do you think I have to create a non-administrator account and use it for routine computer use like photoshop and internet? Can you post some links.

non-admin accounts only limit the user so that they cant install software on the machine... it doesnt stop them from opening the file.
