Hi Guys,

What would be the best way to backup my Webserver tower? Should I just copy the C:/ directories into a backup folder on another drive? Or onto a DVD? Or is there proggies that do it?
Thanks in advance,

Heeter

Is it a PHPBB forum, with all those technologies implemented?

Thanks a million, Bud, This is really gonna help.

Have been concerned about backing up my webserver.

Right on, D

When I work on my localhost, I just stop the mysql services (via services.msc) and copy the entire folder out.

Obviously can't do that here so use " mysqldump --opt > backup.sql "
(be damn careful with that <> basically the arrow points in the direction of data flow -- easy to remember)

Great, Thanks, EP.

I should use that as well. not just through phpBB options.

Thanks again,

Heeter

Is the SQL all you need to back up for VB?

oops mixed the syntax, but virtuanews and vbulletin share the same database as they use some of the same tables.

Right on, D.

Thanks a lot, Bud.

Thanks again,

Any of the SP crew still out there?
