WMP10 will not play this .avi file I have. The audio will play, but not the video. Do I have to pay MS to get the codec? If so, what freeware media player will play .avi files?
Go here and download this: http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/ :It should work. You don't want to be installing codec packs, they will conflict with what you already have and cause more probs than anything ..
For any video that won't play in WMP, download VirtualDub and use it to open the file. Virtualdub will tell you what codec(s) is required to play the file, and then you can Google the codec to get the correct one. That way, you don't have to install an entire codec pack and risk messing something up that was working fine before. I agree with Johnny in that codec packs are not the best option.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
