Yesterday I installed the latest AVG free edition.

Ran it and it told me I have a ''Trojan BackDoor.Optix.Bi''

I have found 1 page on this, it's in some weird language @ http://www.tehomylly.net/tehobbs/viewtopic.php?t=917

I ran virus removal can't find anything to delete.

Is it some kind of hoax, grisoft don't have a clue what it is at their database either.

Found something under optix, this is odd as I installed avg as I removed norton 2003 as it was hogging resources big time.

I even ran a scan with norton 4 hours before uninstalling it, geez this is a pain, only my second virus in a few years. 🙁

I did purge system restore and uninstalled avg, reinstalled norton, updated it to yesterday virii update, noticed that in scanning options system volume is not in scanning procedures, made sure it was seems to be squeaky clean now. Phewwww. I did notice though I am sure it has something to do with an .exe I got from earthlink to do with spyware removal, will be doubley checking it and will post results, thanks neways enyo, spot on!🙂
