Hey !

I got an Ethernet ADSL Modem/routher and i use a shortcut to a dialup connection to connect to the internet where i login to my ISP.

Is there anyway to make this process automatic ?

If you have all your info saved, such as number, username and password, put the shortcut in your startup folder.

This folder is located at c:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If you put the same shortcut in there, that you double-click to launch yourself, that should run when your computer boots or you login :)

Don't forget to uncheck the option 'Prompt for name and password, certificates, etc.' in the connection properties.

Or you could log into the router and enter your username and password into it, so that it's always connected. Don't have to worry about setting up any connections through Windows this way.

Default ip for most home router's is 192.168.1.1 but that could be different.

^Just as an FYI - some local DSL companies make you authenticate twice. Through the router and local PC.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
