Wanting to know if there is a way to automatically update TCP/IP --> DNS settings in Windows 98. Maybe looking for a way to do this via a script or some other way. I have about 45 Win98 PCs in the office and our DNS settings change for dial-up users constantly. Thanks

Tough to say. Can you gather that info from your DHCP server? Can you switch to static IP?

In my experience, DNS settings are disabled in 98 when using DHCP, else certain things don't work right; this may be the situation at my job only, though. May I ask what you are trying to accomplish through this?

Been a while since dial-up, but if I remember correctly, there is an option to allow the ISP that you are dialing to assign the DNS/IP/SDNS etc automatically. Should be easy to do, but then again it's been awhile since dial-up.

Good luck! ;)
