At this years SIGGRAPH Autodesk announced the release of a new version of both 3ds Max and Maya.
I don't know how many people here use either of the programs or are into 3d work at all. But this is really cool news, this is the first release of either since Autodesk acquired Alias last year. This release of 3ds max is focusing on core performance increases and more streamlined usage. Also since the two once competing products are now under one roof there is excellent cross application support now.
Not sure if this is front page news worthy, so I posted it here instead of news submission. Either way, enjoy!
