It is not uncommon for many companies to create auto-downloading exe's. Adobe does it with Acrobat Reader, Microsoft does it with Internet Explorer. It doesn't ask you to download because by clicking the EXE you are basically giving it permission. These such programs usually copy the temp info to c:\documents and settings\username\application data\temp. Hope this clears everything up!
