See this link for all the skinny on benchmarks between all the vid cards and draw your own conclusion.

However, give the two choices in your thread title, I would have to go with the nvidia card based on the performance.

Thanks!

go for the gf4... both dx8-ish componensts ...the ti4200 is a more powerful component...

but please buy a 128mb gf4 ti4200 card if you can... the extra memory is worth it when you play higher resolutions since more textures can be loaded into memory... it does help :)

Okay...another question. Are all manufacturers of GeForce cards equally good? Or are some bad?

me too!

I'm in the same boat here.

I can't afford to go for the 128mb Gf4.

Will the smaller memory on the gf be a problem later on?

not really unless you play @ higher resolutions because textures take up more memory there...

performance @ higher res for a 64mb card is less than a 128mb card with similar other specs... :)

Personaly i like the ATI card, since they are not made by ATI, but rather they are made by the people that created the Game Cube chip. Also my step sister works for ATI so i get discounts, ^^, the 9700 Pro is the way to go, but i cost more, but if you save up you should get the GeForce FX, i will blow you away.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
