ATI radeon 8500le and 50" plasma

i have an ati radeon 8500le and a NEC 50" plasma. i somehow needto set the resolution to 848x480 so it goes to the 16:9 ratio. 800x600 works fine for text and graphics but 1024x768 graphics r ok but text is too blurry. ive been advised to use 848x480 resolution butnot sure how to do it. can someone help me or tell me how to modify a driver perhaps. thanks

is that an HD setting?

if it is... ati has an HDTV adaptor which might be what you are looking for...

go to www.ati.com and check under accessories in their product listing...

if that doesn't work, there are applications that let you choose weird resolutions... I just can't think of it's name off hand
