I picked Nvidia,
no real factual reason, its simply that over the years i have been told that nvidia is better.
Also, it seems nvidia costs more, and usually more cost means better product?

Price is determined by supply and demand. That doesn't necessarily make the card better. Lately, ATI cards have been more readily available than NVIDIA cards.
Most graphics experts will tell you that although NVIDIA cards may perform slightly faster that ATI cards offer better quality graphics.
