I am just switching over to P5VDC-MX with P4D 3.4 processor. I am using DDR1 512x2 ram. Because I am upgrading from a Siemens MB (3.0 ghz), i already had a working HDD with Win XP SP2 with all the updates.

When I insert that HDD into the asus system... i don't hear any beaps when i turn on the system. I get the screen saying that windows could not load properly...gives me options to load safemode, with cmd, with net, last know config, and normal.

I have tried them all but the same result... computer restarts and brings me back to the same screen. Safe mode loads drivers till mup.sys and then reboots....

I HAVE THE LATEST BIOS VERSION

Thanks in advance.

You cannot simply swap motherboards and expect windows to work. The only option apart from reinstalling windows it to use the repair option in the windows setup.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
