I am considering purchasing the Asus A7V333 and I have one question. Can the Raid connectors be configured for normal IDE controller operation, or are they ONLY for Raid setups? I read the manual a bit online but I didn't see anything answers my question.

I own a A7V266-E (same thing, just slower ram) and it is a RAID board, I just didn't turn the Promise Raid controler to 0 or 1, kept it to default and am just running 2 hds and 1 cdrom extra for now, (not mine). But yea, unless they changed anything you can, without activiating the RAID option, they are just IDE ports
