Asus A7V266-E SOUND PROBLEMS! HELP!!

Ok, i am having allot of trouble with the sound on my system. The first problem is with my onboard sound. Whenever i have the onboard sound turned on in the bios and installed my computer locks when trying to use it and has spontanious freezes whenever it wants. I have tried drivers 5.12.1.636, 5.12.1.632, 5.12.1.627. All do the same thing. The other problem i am having is with my Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. During Red Storm Entertainment games (Rogue spear, Sum of All Fears, Ghost Recon, Black Thorn.. etc..) the sound will be working fine, then all of a sudden i get this huge echoing/high bellow sound that maxes out my speakers and gives me headaches... the sounds is comparable to holding a cranked up microphone to a speaker and getting ALLOT of feedback.. thats what it sounds like. Well if anyone could help me get one of these darn sounds cards working well that would be great!! Thanks!!

First off, either disable the onboard sound or pull the card... don't have both active at the same time. Next go to your motherboard site and see if there's any bios revisions that address the issue. keep us posted.

I have tried 1 card at a time and it makes no difference. I will check the site and get back with you guys. Thanks.

Ok, Asus's download page for the Motherboards is down and has been down for days now.. pissing me off. I took out the Sound blaster card and the Onboard seems a little more stable and hasnt locked up yet.. but that could change.. just have to play with it for a while and see if it locks up. Now when i play Nascar 2002 with the onboard sound i get crackly sounds with pops and crackles in it. Let me know what ya think i should do now. thanks.

I have the same board, and I have an audigy, and the onboard audio active at the same time, never any problems. if i do have one, I just reinstall th eaudigy drivers.

What audio driver versions are you using and where did you get them for the onboard sound?
