ASP.NET Limited User Account?

i never created this account, but it seems to exist every time I install XP.. is it supposed to be there, or a virus or what?

I dont think its a virus. It might be a free suscribtion or something, you probably got it while installing XP.

The ASP.NET Machine Account was created when you installed .Net Framework 1.1 from Windows Update. It's created for the ASP.NET worker process if you're running an IIS web server.

People have deleted the account and had no problems, but I would leave it there, just to be on the safe side.

I have deleted it safely through the user accounts and the add/remove with no problems.
