Arrange Icons by: not being saved

In in Save As dialogue the icons/list are in a mixed up order, right click as choose Arrange Icons By Name works. However is you go back to the same folder the order is mixed up again. Can anyone help me as this is really starting to annoy

in arrange icons by, make sure " auto arrange in checked" then select "by name" and that should work ok

its greyed out.
the icons stay in position in explorer windows, its just the opn/save dialogues that they are screwy in

If this should not work you may try the attached reg-file from http://www.dougknox.com . Quote: "This REG (Registry) file will Restore the defaults for Windows XP so that File Open and Save dialogs show the correct sort order.."

Replace .txt with .reg - backup before using

its greyed out.

It is greyed out if you are in list or detail view, it is not greyed out if you are in thumbnail, icon or tile view.

cheers m8 the reg file fixed the problem, it was really starting to annoy me
