I would like to archive a folder and all it's sub-folders and still retain the directory structure. In addition I would like to put strong encryption on it. I can put a password on RAR archives, but the encryption is weak and can easily brute-forced. Also, I do not require the archive to be compressed. Does anyone know of any software that would do this? Preferably open-source ... on Linux or Windows.

you can use this

when you mount the drive just copy the directory to the new virtual drive

save the file and you can put it on cd or whatever and it;s fully encrytped

just enter your password and the file is mounted like a drive and you can go from there

it's free

cheers

I like "cryptainer" from cypherix, similar principle to egghead's suggestion. allocates space (u choose how much) as a mounted drive, can be used with removable media (flash drives,cd's, etc) easy to use, hard to break.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
