Repeat - changed to 4.1 Catalyst. Increase within normal measurement variations. No measurable improvement.

This seems incredibly low. I have Dell Inspiron P4 3056MHz with Hyper Threading technology. 512 MB for Ram. Video card is 64mb NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200. This is from AquaMark:
Graphics Detail Information:
Graphics Card Name: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200
Graphics Card Vendor ID: 4318
Graphics Card Device ID: 804
Graphics Card SubSys ID: 23007272
Graphics Card Revision: 161
Graphics Card Core Clockrate: 196 MHz (MegaHertz)
Graphics Card Memory Clockrate: 392 MHz (MegaHertz)
Graphics Card Driver: nv4_disp.dll
Graphics Card Driver Version: 6.14.10.4585
Graphics Card Video Memory: 67108864 Byte ( ~64 MegaByte)
Graphics Texture Memory: 182452224 Byte ( ~174 MegaByte)

What do I need to do to increase my overall score? New graphics card? Which one is best around $100-150 range? Since I have a laptop, will I need a different graphics card than a desktop computer? Sorry that I'm such a noob at video stuff but I'm sure you guys understand. Thanks.

basically its your gpu... even if it was a desktop gpu... the 5200 would not score great... the problem with the mobile version is its even more crippled than the dtop version...

currently the best mobile cpu out there is the ati m11 and you can't change your mobile gpu w/o changing your whole laptop or having an alienware type laptop where they can switch it out for you...

Man Sazar you need to benchmark that athlon64+ im curious how much better than mine it will be. Supposed to be a nice chip. I thought about getting it but the p4c's spoke to me. (that and i hear they run cool)

How do u like the chip so far?

I love it :)

I had a p4 3.0C... loved it for the most part but a couple of niggling issues made me want to get rid of it... so I did...

AquaMark Score: 27190 (CPU: 4208, GFX: 4017)
Had a better score on my XP2000 but it dropped for some reason before I upgraded to the Barton.

Hey Everyone! Heres what Im scoreing
My REGISTERED Benchmark

AquaMark Score: 16334
AquaMark CPU Score: 8152
AquaMark GFX Score: 1815

My Specs are:
P4 2.4 @ 2.52 w/800 FSB
Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-L
Radeon 9600SE (128MB, 8X AGP)
512MB DDR

My graphics card score isnt doing too great, afterall it is only the 9600SE... but my question is why would my processor be doing better then ALUCARD's P4 2.8, COATHANGER's P4 2.67 @ 3.0, and KOOJO's P4 3.0 ?!?!? Any ideas?

Possibly because you overclocked the front side bus to raise the clock speed. That does more to boost CPU performance than anything else.

Sazar

What exacltly were those niggling issues that inspired getting rid of the P4? Just curious.

speed basically..

while fast it did not have the boost I expected... it was a novelty and I played around with it some (financed with sale of my other monitor and some other components I had) but finally I said sod it... its just not cutting it...

consider though it was one of the faster stock system in terms of benchmarks and the like so it was no slouch but when you use it v/s this current system there was a clear difference in speed...

Got my Barton Upgrade sorted out. Score is better and CPU results are much better now. Key was in getting decent (RAM 333 cl2.5) and keeping RAM and FSB clocks synchronous. Rolling back to Catalyst 4.1 from the 4.2 helped also. The 4.2 crashed on launch in HW2 (OpenGL compatibility).

EDIT - Ok I had to play, set FSB & RAM to 182 Mhz. Good boost on CPU but nothing meaningful on graphics.

PS Thanks for details on the P4 SAZAR.

does anyone have a link to the older aquamark bench, before 3?

thanks in advance for any info

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
