I am running XP Professional, and there is only one active account setup (mine). I have my screen saver set to go on after 20 minutes, and it is password protected. I never turn off my PC and rarely reboot.

I noticed in the Event Viewer that there is a "Security" tab. Now what I would like to do is quite simple, although I don't know if it is possible.

I want to monitor login attempts, no matter if it is logging into Windows, or the password protected screen saver. The reason I want to do this is quite simply because I want to know if anyone is trying to access my computer when I am not around (such as visitors to my house (friends/family)).

If possible, without using any third party applications, please let me know. Thank you.

well, I think I found it.

gpedit.msc
comp config
windows settings
security settings
local policies
audit policies
audit account logon attempts

hmm =)

okay, sorry to waste your time..
turning 'audit account logon attempts' did it.
right click, properties, check which options.
yeah. I should look before I ask next time.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
