errrr.. that spec looks so much like the one I planned to build. :p except mine was with a smaller HD and Leadtek GF6600 GFX card.

I think you should order from Dabs.com, they are cheaper than OCUK and most other online retailers.. especially the motherboard and RAM

The K8NXP-9 board in Dabs.com is £112 (£96 ex VAT)

I don't think it's clawhammer if it's 4000. I haven't checked out the new specs on the 4000's. But that doesn't sound right. Since Clawhammers were the socket 754 1mb cache chips. But I could be wrong.

Nice setup. Good choice in going with the Audigy 2 ZS rather then the Audigy 4 Pro. The only difference between them is 15db. Something like that.

oh.. the 4000+, is it 90nm or 130nm? if the latter then it's a Newcastle, otherwise the 90nm is Winchester which run at lower temps of course. :)

Scan is quite expensive for a lot of things in my opinion. Look around coz you will find cheaper prices for the same items.

Reminds me of napoleon dynamite.

Napoleon Dynamite: What kind of bike do you have?
Pedro: It's a sledgehammer.
Napoleon Dynamite: Dang! You got shocks, pegs... lucky! You ever take it off any sweet jumps?
Napoleon Dynamite: [Cut to Pedro jumping] You got like three feet of air that time.

Would consider getting rid of the HDD and getting 2 smaller SATA... raid ;D

Don't see the point in RAID for home PCs. Waste of storage space if mirroring, and high risk of losting EVERYTHING if any one of the two drives fail.

I have two 160 gig SATA drives and a 320 gig RAID 0 array
Wheres the waste? :)

Can't remember which Raid is which. guess you're not using the mirroring one. :p
No waste there, but risk losing everything if one drive fails.

All is good. But as E.Punk mentioned, you may be better off with two smaller drives. Whether or not you will use Raid, it's up to you, but two smaller drives tend to be better than one big drive.

ok a slight change

Western Digital Caviar 250.0GB
Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro PCI
Corsair Memory TWINX1024-3200XLPRO XMS3200 2x512MB 2-2-2-5 PRO
Connect 3D Radeon X800XT Platinum 256MB PCI-E DVI-I VIVO
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ Socket 939 1MB Inc Fan

was gonna get a mobo from dabs.com but most the nforce4 aint in stock yet so im gonna shop about unless you lot can recommend one from www.dabs.com ?

I was just looking at the last post then noticed what ming wrote.........& others from what was said. I agree with the two smaller hard drives. You can set then up in Raid0 to get one large drive with the added performance boost. You can also partition it. Does you mother board have onboard raid? If so use it. It is very simple to set up.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
