Any recover option without reboot?

I just had something weird happen - got a script error come up from AutoIt, though nothing of it (I run the startclock thing, could have been that, but maybe KlipFolio too)...

Anyway next thing I know my desktop loses all it's shortcuts and the Taskbar disappears! Clicking on Wallpaper gives nothing.... I can get task manager with 3 finger salute and I can alt-tab through my open tasks, that, about it...

Anyone have any recipes for recovering a situation like that WITHOUT rebooting? Oh and one of my open tasks is (luckily) a command prompt if that helps....

Do the three finger salute & see if 'explorer' is running in the processes. If not go to applications/new task & type explorer. (might be explorer.exe)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
