Any luck with SanDisk ImageMate?

Has anyone been able to get their SanDisk Imagemate
SmartMedia card reader to work with XP?

I have the SDDR-09 model, for which Sandisk decided not
to support XP. 'Course, it looks as if 3/4 of their products
aren't supported on XP. $50 paperweights.

I found a couple of third party drivers for it, but XP refuses
to recognize them, saying the file does not contain the
proper information for my device.

The following information may enable you to use the SDDR-09 on XP; downloadable from a third party vendor's support site. The driver is named SM-XP install.zip located toward the bottom of the page under Zio! SmartMedia.

You can get that file here:

Just scroll all the way to the bottom and hit the "Download Now" link.

Thanks, but that's the one I tried. Actually I tried both
the XP version and the Win2000 version.

XP just checks the file and says "file does not contain the
proper information for my device."

Very frustrating.

No doubt (frustrating).

I've got a couple scanners that share the same fate... no support from the manufacturer. Oh well, I guess i'll let them gather dust, i'm NOT going back to 9x on a dare. I hope you can your reader working though. good luck.
