Another Micro (you know who) bug!

I have recently installed Office XP and the SP1. The problem is that when I shut down a package it stays resident in the memory and as an active processes in task manager.

Originally it was just word, but now it is outlook as well.

I can kill the processes and that fixes the problems, but it is still a pain in the ass, and can go un-noticed hogging memory for ages?

Is there a fix for this - I hate these RAM boosting programs.

Robin, there was a thread on this subject a while ago dealing with the speech recgonition (sp) engine staying up after closing Office XP programs.

if u don't use that feature consider uninstalling it, that may clear up your problem.

read through this thread

good luck ;)

Any of the SP crew still out there?
