Been using ABC for a bit now. Just upgraded to 2.6.8. It seems that this version is leaking memory. Anyone else experience this?

cant really reply to your question but id just like to say G3 is what im using and it seems to use 32 megs of Ram pulling 3 downloads. im not sure if this is high or not.. emule sucks 40 megs... but also pulls resources from my proccess.

kinda rambling lol sorry.

I havn't had this problem with it (though I think i only did like 2 or 3 torrent since upgrading) but have read some about it on there forum. Perhaps a stop to there forum .. or beta build :)

I'm with Scrazcos, use G3 - it's exactly the same, except it's not written in Java (which is evil), but in Python (which is nice).

I've gone back to ABC for now, I don't really feel like installing Java just yet on this fresh install.

I don't see why ppl use bittorrents... I can't get those things to download faster then let's say 10kb/s ... while irc downloads @ 200/300 kb/s... Does that software need some special settings? Router config?

Sorry, I'm too lazy to read Bittorrent.doc :D

If you're behind a router, forward the ports BT is using to your machine.

The more people that are uploading, the faster your download will be.

Ah, so the software itself limits the download speed... now I got it...

is there a good bittorrent faq somewhere that you know of?

Thanks for the link A.Z. I just started using Azureus and am trying to learn the tricks of the trade.

Well, I'm back to Azureus now, as last night I noticed ABC was using 75+k memory running 3 .torrents. Went back to Azureus and it's back down to the normal 30-35k. Interesting...

Do you really mean k and not MB?

if you want to use ABC I have used a lot of the different builds and finally went back to 2.6.4a...it is the best one I Have used so far and doesn't jog my computer down at all...if you can give it a try...you can find it on sourceforge where they have old builds

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
