Anyone know why my amd 2200 is not being recognized by xp? I just built this pc and i cant figure it out

Is it being recognized properly in the bios? Some system specs would help also.

ahhh amd 2200 asus a7v333 512ddr 2700 200 gig western digital hd xtasy geforce 4 4600

check your fsb settings in the bios, i had to reset mine when i upgraded my cpu. it should be set to 133/133.

Might also be worth flashing to the newest BIOS (if there is one for that board?)

that is normally the problem with amd processors when first used

AMD 2200+

Yes
I installed 2200+ last week and was not recognised on Chaintech mboard, although bios upgrade mentioned it supported it.
See if you can alter the dip switch on mboard in "Clock frequency jumper" to "auto"
Recent new processor ratios are sometimes not catered for in Mboard manuals issued prior to 2002.
It will be 1 or other.
Let me know

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
