Well I found a review of the new AMD chip.

AMD is kicking off their 2400+/2GHz and 2600+/2.13GHz today. AMD reaching the 2GHz milestone is a commendable feat, but what about that core logic change? Um, none of that. Well how bout a die shrink? None of that either. So what is it about this chip that excites us? AMD is once again building cool running CPUs that are OCable!

AMD 2600+

Well here is another link to a review
AMD 2600+ 2

Well its news so I was posting it. I'm not going to get into which one is better as I'm sick and tried of those type of posts.

So am I! So which one is better...?:D

First of all great Big HELLO, to all the usuals....

And HUGE CONGRADS goes out to AMD for breaking the 2.0 GH barrier.

the whole thing is it is using the 0.13 process.. and it has been refined therefore the processor is not only more stable but also a heck of a lot more overclockable than the 2200... therefore there is a reason to be excited as the technology matures for amd...

intel has around half its processors sales on 0.13 process.. they have done it longer... but all the buzz is not about the pentium coming out with the 3.0 ghz processor... unless you are a die hard intel fan...

the reviewers are all excited about one thing..

it is all about amd coming out with 333 mhz fsb (going on 400 soon) and with more on board cache...

with the 2700+ they will accomplish this... by october...

then everyone waits for the 3.0 ghz v/s hammer battle to begin...

Just a little too late, like a year too late! WooHoo! 2.13GHz!!!! Now instead of being able to fry a couple eggs over easy in the morning on the top of your case, you can now melt the polar ice caps on Mars, like in 'Total Recall'.

Hey Catch23!!! What up man? No Flaming tonight?? Maybe Mommy's heating up your milk bottle on your 1800+!!!:D I'll give you a little more time......

thank you for posting that very interesting cut and paste image of a thorough bashing of the amd 2600+ by the top of the line p4 2.53

below are links for those interested in the FULL article on those benchmarks

Great thing is this buahahahahahahaa

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.67GHz)

Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz

860 mhz diffrence and they still can't out bench them. The proof is in the Charts. I'll give the good old P4 its credit. "it makes a nice paper weight" if you ever need one ;)

Dunno wtf you are talking about dude. I had a 2000+ at one time....actually i had 2, that fried their sorry butts, and the benchmarks I got were way different than what I'm getting now with my P4. Just take a look at my Benchmarls page and compare them with yours......

don't mean to put a damper on your wonderfulk 3dmark score... but a little gnome has gone and inserted the text... TEST NOT RUN USING DEFAULT BENCHMARKS... so perhaps there is a little issue there :)

going to post my benchies next... :)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
