You really don't need software to change your logon screen.
Just toss the logon screen .exe file into C:\WINDOWS\system32. You don't even need to overwrite the old logonui.exe. Just rename the new logon screen to, lets say, logonui2.exe (or something more descriptive).
Then open up Regedit (Start>Run>regedit), and navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Double click UIHost and change it to the name of the new login screen, i.e., logonui2.exe
Well, I never knew that!
Also, you could make a reg file to fix it back to the previous (original) one if it goes wrong, surely? (happened to me before! Dammit!)
If something is wrong with the new logon screen file, it just switches to the classic (Win2k style) logon screen by default, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Also, if you store the file in any place other than system32, you would need to enter the full path to the file, making sure you use double backslashes everywhere. eg: "C:\\Misc\\LogonScreen\\logonui.exe"
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
