OK, a suggestion to make. Just thought of this, off the top of my head idea, just throwing it into the ring kinda thing

I buy a lot of DVD's online and when I do I often go to my favorite DVD site and click on the relevant affiliate banner to get to the shop I want (thus aiding the site). So I thought it could be an idea to have those kind of affiliates for OSNN. I for one would buy all my shiz through here (and of course you could do other kinds of things).
For those who don't know, the kind of links/banners i'm talking about are more often than not called Affiliate links (not like the ones we have on the front page btw). Many etailers (such as Amazon etc) have schemes setup whereby you sign up with them (for free) and can then use special links to them and if anyone clicks through and buys stuff then you get a percentage of the sale. You can often link to the site in general or to specific products or groups of products targeted to the demographic of visitor and as such get different size/types of banner in the process

Of course I don't know what those things pay in relation to the current banners but they may make for more click through's or actual purchase's. and/or have them in tandem with the current ones.

Anyway, just a thought

I don't expect the amazon links I have on the frontpage to earn anything, I was just getting fed up of seeing the surveys etc.

you should get bigger ones, or in more prominent places for the forum pages :) and also ones for sites that don't suck as hard as Amazon! :)

Why dont you have a section in the forum for affiliate links. Members can let you know where they buy stuff, you set up an affiliate link - whenever we want to buy something we go through here rather than just going straight to the website.

Just an idea.

I trialed the Amazon ads for a bit, 150 clicks no income, they just replace the default adverts. Not really too worried about income as I am happy with it, just the look at th e ads, I want relevent ads that look cool, not even ones that will make people clcik like mad - just look good ;)

I would buy stuff from them if they where from decent DVD sites :)

I wait for amazon software bargains. You can get latest software for a lot cheaper than retail stores, boxed and free delivery.

Example boxed ulead photoimpact 8 90$ amazon £26.99 At that time a difference of £40.

Also drive image boxed £19.99 at powerquest before symantec bought them out, 69.99$.

Otherwise some titles are good they have some o.k. deals but I have returned a lot of videos as they are poor quality.

heh get some play.com, dc-dvd.com affiliations going and I'll click through them some :D

Nah, I never liked adverts based on commision, but they are almost game/software related so until I can find something better they can stick around.

How does Google AdSense pay? I know it's click-based, but how much does it generate per click?

I haven't been able to figure it out at all.
Seems to depend on the ad, and as they are controlled by keywords it is impossible to tell!!

Ok...just wondering since they're actually the least-intrusive ads. Would be nice if they paid well too. =P

hmm but I'd have a dilema, would I click the osnn ads, or the opera ads??

OSNN ads, of course.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
