Hi guys,
We just received new laptops and users can't install new hardware (mouse, usb key, ...) without having an administrator entering the admin password... Is there a trigger somewhere that we could activate to allow the full control over usb ports?

Thx!

This is not specific to USB ports, but it should allow non-admin accounts to install hardware.

Start>Run>gpedit.msc
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights.
Look for "Load and unload device drivers" and double-click it to add other users/groups besides Administrators.

Thanks NetRyder, that's exactly what I was looking for! I knew it would be in gpedit but couldn't found it

Unfortunatly, it seems not to work with sp2... any explanation/solutions?!?

Ha Ha! Un gningnegneur... Je pensais etre le seul ici a connaitre cette expression la.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
