Adobe Photoshop 6 - warning message - Help Me Please

I am trying to turn a path into a selection and I am constantly getting an error message that reads "Warning: no pixels are more than 50% selected, the selection edges will not be visible." Can someone please help me. I really have to get som ework done on my website www.bigmountainsportinggoods.com

One problem is that when I can select a path and turn it into a selection my selected square becomes an oval. This one really perplexes me...

i had the same issue happen, i think its an update that is corrupted, to be honest, the best bet is to uninstall ps6 make sure every single entry is deleted in the registray and my programs restart then reinstall. I found no other work a round for this error myself.
