I keep a pc with xp pro on it over my friends house so we can do some gaming. yesterday i went over to his house and tried to log on to the pc. when i started it up it told me i needed to change the password (but i had set for password never expires). So i try to change the password and after i type it in confirm new password, i get a message "Cannot change password, user not on domain" (or close to that). I am the only Administrator on the pc so i cannot log on to try to correct this issue. Is there something i'm missing? Any help on the matter would be greatly apprecieted!
The pc is a 1.7 gig P4 with 512 SDRAM
Thanks in advance

Locked yourself out??

You will have to log on as the admin using the password you used when you installed XP. After you have logged on as the admin go to computer management and fix the user password problem created. or you can get this app http://www.iopus.com which will show you the passwords on the machine.

Thanks for the input

Shortly after i posted, i got a reply on another forum and got the issue solved. you are correct, i had to log in as admin but there was no password set up for that account. so all i had to do was not put in a password and hit enter :) never thought of not putting in a password.
thanks for the post
jerry

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
