Hi. I have a desktop and a notebook, both XP SP2. I used to use Network Magic to network both machines and uninstalled it because it uses a lot of resources. Now the issue begins. I had tried to re-network both machines but there is a "access error", I know I have to close fire wall, antivirus and other staff. In the network-IP-properties which additional services should I install to make my new network setup works? Thanks.

You don't need any additional services. Are these XP Pro or XP Home?

more info needed percy, such as are these computers connecting to each other through a router? or directly connecting to each other? im assuming you are attempting a wireless connection, have you tried a wired connection?

I found the problem. It was my firewall. I just had to configure the firewall settings in detail particularly the IP range and ports access. I have XP Home and Pro. I am using NIS2007. Thanks for the post. I really appreciate it.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
