Adding an LCD Display

I have an old Server Chasis with an LCD display. This thing is very old, and out of commision (1992). I was wondering if there is any guide to add an LCD display, to computers that aren't shipped with them. I have a home built computer, by me, and know nothing really about how LCD's work. If there is a way to just sorta install it, or a guide, let me in, thanx.
