Add/Remove

quick question.

is there anyway to remove things that appear in the add/remove panel or in the msconfig applets. I mean I got some progs that have been uninstalled that are still showing in the applets. Its not big deal but the lists are still cluttered and I'd like to remove the progs that are listed there if they are no longer installed.

Yeah, check out this program:

RegCleaner

Besides getting rid of those entries that shouldn't exist anymore, it's a great tool for removing the registry entries that the program's uninstall program didn't remove. I use it pretty frequently, and it will take care of your problem.

I remove these entries manually.

Entries in the add/remove list are under this registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Disabled items in msconfig are here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig

Get the regcleaner with the installer package... if you haven't already.
