active desktop question..

Hi,

I'm busy writing my first active desktop, and while browsing the monthly desktops, I found some cool ideas of what I'd like to integrate on mine.. but I'm not too sure on how to do it.

Here's what I'd like to add:

- CPU load (+ temp + etc..)
- Ram usage (total, used, free)
- HD free space
- uptime
- download, upload
- IP address(es)

Now my question is, do you guys use a tool or a script to get these values ? I guess I could use VBScript to get them, but I'm new to VB, and I don't know which object I can use to get them.

Any hint will help

some of the stuff you see is apps running in the background and other kind of neat stuff. I let my apps write the stuff to files which i can then parse with PHP.
